Born on January 27, 1924, Johnsie Lee Smith was the daughter
of the late Ernest & Ada Smith of Brevard, North Carolina.
The Johnsie L. Mills Memorial Mass Choir
The Johnsie L. Mills Memorial Mass Choir was founded in March 1987.
Prior to the mass choir name change, the choir was named The Combined
Community Mass Choir. After the passing of Johnsie Lee Mills, the choir
was renamed in her honor, for the work and dedication that she had demonstrated
over the many years as the pianist and director of the Bethel A Baptist Church
Choir and Flat Rock Baptist Church.
